Kisakye, a young girl, is sold by her parents to an old rich man in exchange for a cow and a promise to pay her school fees. The arrangement includes Kisakye becoming the old man's wife after completing her education. Years later, Kisakye returns home from the city, educated but determined to escape the forced marriage. When she visits the old man, he demands her to fulfill the promise hence raped, this forces Kisakye to flee her home after her parents refuse to intervene. As Kisakye navigates her newfound freedom, she meets a series of boyfriends, but each relationship ends in tragedy: every boyfriend she falls in love with dies under mysterious circumstances. With each loss, Kisakye becomes increasingly isolated and haunted by the curse of her past. Will she find a way to break free from the cycle of violence and tragedy, or will she remain forever trapped by the unwanted promise?
